Objective To find part-time/summer employment utilizing my design and HTML skills to provide low-cost professionally designed web sites to local businesses, individuals and organizations.
Mission Statement |
Who Am I Since the days when I thought our new 286 was the greatest thing since sliced bread, the computer has shaped my life. I grew up on the computer--as a child I read "Dummies" books for "fun"--and began designing websites early on in High School under the name Say So Sites, a name derived from Psalm 107:11 -- "Let the redeemed of the Lord SAY SO." Although my work is by no means limited to "Christian" material, as a Christian, I desire that all I do be a testimony to the greatest designer of all. |
Education I am going into my Sophomore year at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. This past Winter I gained acceptance into their Visual Communication Design program, one of the most selective undergrad programs at the University (they take only 15 out of hundreds of applicants each year), after an intense design exam and portfolio review. |
Qualifications My greatest asset is my designer's eye. Design, not javascript tricks and programming, comes first in creating unique sites. I am skilled in graphics design (from websites to t-shirt logo design), photo manipulation, and simple Flash animation. On the programming end, I am proficient in HTML and don't believe in "WYSIWYG" software because it limits flexibility and precision in design -- I program everything by hand. I also am experienced working with a wide variety of people. |
Design and Me I have been designing since I began designing a "magazine" called Art Tree when I was in kindergarten! Art Tree gave way to co-editing The Excelsior; art gave way to computer-generated design, as I participated in the SIGGRAPH students' group Telecommunity and began web design; and my high school obsessions with design now seem to be giving way to a major in Visual Communication in college! |
