Meet to discuss objectives. Start thinking about the PURPOSE for your site (Who are you trying to reach? New customers? Current customers? Children? Adults? Is your site an online brochure, an announcement board, an interactive meeting place? What is your reason for wanting a website? Just to establish a presence on the web? To reach new customers? What?)

Gather materials and resources. The more you have prepared, the easier and smoother the website development process will go. I have a stash of high-quality photographic clip-art, fonts and other design elements, but you are responsible for providing text (preferably already typed, but I am willing to type up brochures and already-prepared resources), logos (if you have one that is), and company-specific photographs.

Site Development The next step, of course, would be for me to design the website. After discussing exactly what pages you want on your site, I would develop a design scheme and layout for the site, create graphics, and program all of the pages (I hand-code HTML for accuracy in design), providing you with a complete, finished site, ready for hosting.

Hosting and Publicity Finally, if you desire, I am familiar with hosting services (that is, a place to post your website online and to get a "domain name" -- the www.yourname.com -- for your site) that cost as low as $15 a year. I can work closely with you to sign up for a hosting service and get the site posted on the web for the world to savor. I can also help publicize the site by placing it in search engines so that people can find it.

Maintenance and Upkeep Perhaps the most tricky part of the project is coordinating maintenance and upkeep. My job being primarily to design and layout the site, I most likely can't be responsible for frequent updates. Some possible options are, 1) You could hire me to train you in how to easily update pages, or 2) You could periodically hire me from time to time to post updates. This would be discussed well in advance.

Pricing is negotiable and variable, based on the time required, the work involved, and the desired size of the project. While professionally designed sites often market for, at the least, $6000, I hope to provide sites at prices within the $1000-4000 range.
